To create this, Heather Greene, CEO and Master Blender of Milam & Greene as well as author of Whiskey Distilled A Populist Guide to the Water of Life called on two of her longtime friends and colleagues Noah Rothbaum and David Wondrich, whiskey experts and award-winning authors of The Oxford Companion to Spirits and Cocktails. They tasted numerous barrels before finally selecting 38 casks distilled across 3 different states with 6 different ages that make up this blend of straight bourbon whiskies. It is hand-bottled at 118 Proof which is optimal for enjoying neat, on ice or with a splash of water. The nose showcases notes of oak cushioned by waves of pecan pie, caramel, and maple syrup. The palate is rich and chewy with a pop of spice, then toasty and robust. The finish is long and warm with dark cherry notes.
