Vineyards situatio Located in the southern part of Burgundy, at the North limit of Beaujolais area, Pouilly Fuisse is the top of the Maconnais wines, in the heart of the great whites appellations Fuisse, Pouilly Loche, Pouilly Vinzelles and Saint Veran.Characteristics Pouilly Fuisse is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes. The production is small 700 hectares planted and cover steep slopes of the village of Fuise, Solutre, Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintre, on which the soils are a mixture of clay and chalk from the Jurassic era.Wine making One part of the wine is fermented in vats and the other in oak barrels in order to have a fresh and fruity wine with a good structure.Winemaker’s comments / Gastronomy Maison Louis Jadot produces a Pouilly Fuisse with emerald gold tones which reflect a wine of finesse and distinction; the tasting is harmonious, fresh, full of flavours with hazelnuts, toasted almonds, grapefruit and lemon aromas.It must be served rather cool and goes very well with shellfish, fish, white meat in cream sauce and poultry.Preservation Pouilly Fuisse is pleasant to drink young, but can be aged in cellar a long time 5-8 years to develop a superb complex bouquet. – Louis Jadot
