Description
Antonio Macanita is not only one of Portugal’s top wine consultants, he is perhaps the most ambitious and creative. With projects extending from the Azores to the Douro, Antonio’s aim is to showcase Portuguese terroir and grape varieties in all of their diversified glory. Here, in Antonio’s Alentejo project Fita Preta, we have a wine whose name translates as “The Touriga goes naked.” In other words, for a grape variety so closely allied to elevage in oak barrels, we have a “naked” example of a Touriga raised in stainless steel.
