Description
Barolo DOCG, still red, 14.5% ABV, produced by Sordo Giovanni, a historic Piedmontese winery founded in 1912. 0.75 L bottle, 2016 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the tradition of a unique terroir, with Nebbiolo grapes grown in Verduno. Aged for 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by a period in stainless steel and bottle. The bouquet is rich, ample, and very persistent, with hints of fresh fruit, berries, sweet spices, mountain hay, and undergrowth. On the palate, it offers a beautiful color palette, never too intense, yet very stable over time. The structure is excellent, with tannins and acids in a very pleasant balance. A wine worthy of its reputation, ideal for pairing with red meat dishes and aged cheeses.
