Description
Organic. 100% Chardonnay from Mendocino Ridge, Santa Cruz Mountains, and Sonoma Coast Avas. Sourced from older wente clones, including own-rooted vines. The vineyards that comprise the 2021 Alta Heights California Chardonnay are P&M Staiger (Santa Cruz Mountains), Wildcat Mountain (Sonoma), and Signal Ridge (Mendocino Ridge). All are mountaintop vineyards where the soils are weathered-in-place bedrock (as opposed to the mix of deep soils you get in valley/ low elevation sites due to erosion). Native yeast fermented and then aged for 9 months in older French oak, assembled and aged for an additional 9 months in steel to tighten up the wines. No additions save for minimal so2- avg 25ppm free.
