Still red Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, 14% ABV, produced by Marchesi Antinori in Tuscany, 2022 vintage. 100% Sangiovese. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation in new Hungarian and French barriques, aging for approximately 14 months in the same barriques and a further year in bottle. It expresses aromas of vanilla, chocolate, and coffee. It is striking for its structure, roundness, and balanced tannins. Aromas of blackberry and plum. Awarded 4 stars by the Italian Sommelier Foundation Guide, 92 points by Decanter, 93 points by James Suckling, 94 points by Robert Parker, and 93 points by Wine Spectator.
