Description
”This is a bespoke rose in that the Pinot Noir grapes were grown specifically with the intention of making a rose wine. The delicate charm, yet intriguing complexity of this wine harmonize beautifully in this vintage of Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc, by presenting bright, berry flavors balanced with a crisp, refreshing structure. The style of this wine, traditionally known in France as oeil-deperdrix pronounced uh-ye-duh-per-dree, translates to eye of the partridge, and has been made by my family, using Pinot Noir grapes, for 40 years.Producing this wine requires a gentle hand and a readiness to press the juice quickly once it reaches the desired level of color. It is a true-to-the-roots style that is not just a by-product of red wine. The juice is fermented partially in French oak barrels, which add enough rich texture and light spice to beautifully complement the generous fruit-filled flavors. Please enjoy this wine very well chilled. Finished with a twist-top to preserve the crisp, clean aromas and tastes, it is well matched with picnics, served on the patio, light dishes or enjoyed on its own as an aperitif. 2014 Sonoma CountyTasting NotesPale pink with a copper hue, this wine has a classic eye of the partridge color. Citrus-driven aromas carry through to the palate. On entry, bright acidity enlivens the dense creamy orange note with layers of dried, tart apricot. The brightness verges on minerality, but there is so much weight that the richness balances out the firm acidity and carries flavors of dried fruit through the long-lasting finish.”- Joseph Wagner, Owner/Winemaker
