Description
The 2024 California harvest saw a mix of weather patterns, beginning with a wet winter and a cool spring that led to an early start. Warm summer dates and a brief October heat wave brought the season to a quick, energetic in Monterey County, where the heat condensed the harvest window. Yield were in line with past vintages, and overall grape quality was outstanding, marked by excellent concentration and balance. Our San Lucas Vineyard in Monterey County lies on the southwestern edge of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range and is Certified Sustainable. The vineyard is within a protected microclimate with warmer overall daytime temperature. Morning fog and dramatic temperature shifts help elongate hang-time as the grape clusters rest in the cool evenings. The Lockwood Shaly Loam soil is made up of fossilized seashells similar to limestone, which is ideal for a crisp, balanced, and high quality Sauvignon Blanc.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: A pale straw-colored hue and a hint of green, reflecting its crisp, vibrant character.
Aroma: Enticing aromas of bright apple, fresh cut grass, pineapple, and melon.
Palate: Crisp, with citrus notes. The acid is both balanced and integrated, giving it texture on the mid-palate and an elegant softness.
