Description
Grillo Il Salinaro di Pellegrino comes from the vineyards of the homonymous estate in Petrosino, in the province of Trapani, and takes its name from the salt pans that rise along the coast, whose iodised breezes are fully found in the sapidity of the grapes. Tenuta Il Salinaro extends over 14 hectares, all dedicated to the Grillo grape; we are at zero altitudes 800 metres away from the sea, on calcareous-sandy soils with an important water reserve. The harvest takes place starting from mid August. The vinification is carried out in reduction with soft pressing and subsequent long fermentation at low temperature. The refinement lasts for 4 months in steel on the lees.
GRILLO IL SALINARO PELLEGRINO: TASTING
Grillo Il Salinaro di Pellegrino is straw yellow with shimmering greenish veins. The nose opens on aromatic herbs, first of all, sage, then it is granted with references to tomato leaf, cedar and grapefruit, all enclosed in a brackish embrace. On the palate, it is fresh, intense and salty, with a delicately almond finish. Fantastic with fried fish, or with tuna steak with herbs.
