Pale lemon yellow in color with aromas of stone fruit (peach, apricot) and white flowers on the nose. On the palate there is a nice complexity with notes of lime, pineapple and mango with a good balance between acidity and fleshiness. This is an elegant and well integrated wine. The finish is expressive and lingering with pronounced mineral notes.
Pairs well with fish in a buttery sauce, seafood, and white meats especially veal.
Blend: 40% Grenache Blanc, 34% Roussanne, 20% Clairette, 6% Bourboulenc
Critical Acclaim
JD93 Jeb Dunnuck The base 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is mostly Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Clairette and also includes a splash of Bourboulenc brought up in demi-muid and barrels. This light gold-hued white has a clean, crisp bouquet of honeyed citrus, white currants, white flowers, and a touch of toasted spice to go with a beautifully balanced, medium-bodied, clean, vibrant style on the palate. This is another classy white from the 2019 vintage that can be drunk today or cellared for a good decade or more. RP91 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate Subtle scents of pencil shavings and toasted almonds accent lime and tangerine notes on the nose of La Nerthe’s 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc. A blend of 40% Grenache Blanc, 34% Roussanne, 20% Clairette and 6% Bourboulenc, with the Roussanne made in barrels (one-third new), it’s a medium to full-bodied, generous wine that has enough structure to keep it refreshing on the long, citrusy finish.
