The life of Chateau Haut-Bailly was eventful, particularly after the death of Alice Bellot of Mining in 1906. It then changed ownership several times before finding stability in 1955 when Daniel Sanders bought the property and fully invested himself to restore the quality and the image Chateau Haut Bailly deserved. Since 1998, the owner of Chateau Haut Brion is an American banker who is passionate about the wines of Bordeaux, Mr. Robert G. Wilmers.
