Description

Combining gourmet richness, voluptuousness and subtlety, Lilian Ladouyss wines are made by and for epicureans.THE VINTAGE The 2013 vintage was a very technical challenge. This campaign is described by an excess of pluviometry a rain rate 25% above the national average and cool temperatures delaying the vegetative cycle. The delay was so serious that the flowering occurred at the end of June with complicated weather conditions. As a result, we have had some shatter and shot berries. Thanks to the hot and sunny days in July and August, we got an optimal maturity.IN THE VINEYARD All work favorizing a good distribution and aeration of the grapes disbudding, clipping, thinning out of leaves. Grass planted according to the vigor of the plot. Hand-picked harvest, followed by a manual sorting on clusters and then on berries.WINEMAKING Gravitary vatting without pressing Prefermentary cold maceration Long vatting period Racks and returnsTASTING The 2013 vintage required a lot of subtlety and technical savoir-faire but it paid-back! The Cabernets Sauvignons and Merlots are very interesting a deep and intense color, great freshness, fine tannins and fresh fruits flavors.Chateau Lilian Ladouys 2013 is a harmonious wine with an aromatic freshness and velvety tannins. Very pleasant wine!Tasted at the Chateau in April 2015REVIEWS AND AWARDS An attractive, fruity wine that is already soft and fresh. The mineral texture adds some complexity and suggests the wine has potential.Note 89 – Wine Enthusiast – April 2014Lots of pretty spice and berry character, with hints of grilled meat. Medium body, good core of fruit and a decadent finish.Note 89 – James Suckling – April 2014The Lilian Ladouys has a lovely floral bouquet that has pretty fresh strawberry and red cherry scents surfacing with time. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is mediumbodied with sweet tannins, low acidity and a pleasant, easy-drinking, soft finish. This is clean and pleasurable.Neal Martin – April 2014 – Chateau Lilian Ladouys
