Description
Black cherries and chocolate meet in the supple, mouth-filling 2017 Chinon Clos de L’Olive. Suave with swagger, it offers both ripe, dark fruits and savoriness and a subtle twist of peppery spice. Excellent concentration of fruit with an abundance of limestone-derived, fine-grained chalky tannin. Long, smoky length and –while it’s rich – excellent balance. A wine that Bordeaux lovers will really enjoy for its elegant, restrained style. Long, long length. Already starting to drink, this is currently more appealing than the estate’s other famed single-vineyard, Clos de l’Echo, which typically takes longer to come around.
