Description
About Our Estate Brut Our Estate Brut is a small cuvee comprised only of grapes grown in our own vineyards. In 2009 we made our first prototype of this cuvee and we were so pleased with the results that we committed to produce it on an ongoing basis exclusively for our Wine Club members and winery guests. The wine was aged a full three plus years in our cellar. We love this wine now, but know it has exceptional further aging potential.Harvest Thhe summer months, which are the heart of the growing season, were dominated by a persistent marine system that provided morning fog until mid-day. The combination of cool temperatures and ample crop load produced plenty of hang-time and allowed maximum flavor development. We started harvesting Pinot Noir on August 20, and brought in the last Chardonnay on September 22. Both varieties showed power and finesse in this remarkable vintage.Tasting Notes Beautiful aromatic notes of fresh flowers, lychee, white peach and pear make this wine irresistible. The delicate nose belies the round, full palate and exceptionally creamy finish. This Brut is one of our best for long aging. It will pay dividends of flavor if you are patient.Pairing Suggestions We recommend pairing it with rich double and triple cream or goat cheeses. Perfect with just a few toasted nuts, it will also enhance simple to complex meals. Oysters, poultry and even meat dishes work well and we suggest trying it with Asian cuisine. – Domaine Carneros
