Description
Fèlsina Sangiovese Fantalloro is an
IGT Toscana red wine. The Poggiali family has been producing it since 1966, flawlessly combining traditional methods with the use of modern and innovative tools. The Sangiovese wine comes from the
Tuscan vineyards of Chianti Classico and Chianti Colli Senesi, specifically in the upper part of the Fèlsina area, Castelnuovo Berardenga. The
harvest is carried out by hand, in the first ten days of October, according to the traditional method which involves a careful selection of the
best bunches. The hills that host the
vineyard are located at an altitude of 340/400 meters above sea level, and the
vineyards enjoy pleasant temperatures around 18°. Viticulture is done using espalier systems, with spurred cordon pruning. After the initial pressing and destemming process, the must is fermented at around 30°C. The maceration process takes place over a period of 15 to 20 days in large stainless steel tanks, where automatic punching down and daily pumping over are carried out. At the beginning of spring, the Fèlsina Sangiovese Fantalloro is transferred to white oak barrels and aged for two years. The final step is bottling. The wine ages in glass bottles for approximately twelve months before being sold.
