Description
Collemassari Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco is a classic red, with an austere and fresh character yet full of a warm and enveloping soul. This
DOC Bolgheri Rosso Superiore is born in Tuscany, from a vineyard of just ten hectares located 100 meters above sea level, with soil rich in calcareous sandstone and clay and swept by the mild Mediterranean climate. All this contributes to the growth of the grapes with an ancient flavor that produce this splendid, elegant and intense wine, the jewel of the
Grattamacco estate. The
Colle Massari winery, owned by the
Tipa family and located in
Lungagnano, enjoys the privilege of being in an ideal position for growing vineyards suited to the production of great, refined and elegant red wines. The producer of
Collemassari Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco boasts 40 years of history, made of
organic cultivation, respecting the rhythms of nature, and creates this wine with 65%
Cabernet Sauvignon, 20%
Merlot and 15%
Sangiovese. During the
harvest, the grapes are selected and picked exclusively by hand, from the second week of September to the first week of October. The
fermentation is spontaneous and takes place inside small open wooden barrels. The
maceration is in contact with the skins and the wine is then left to
mature in first and second passage barriques for 18 months. The
refinement in the bottle requires a final period of 12 months.
