Description
Winemaker Notes
Krug Rose is a relatively recent addition to the Krug range of Champagnes, having been introduced first in 1983. While produced in a manner similar to other Krug Champagnes and stylistically consistent, it nevertheless presents a uniquely exotic and intriguing set of aromas and flavors. It’s color is a pale salmon, suggesting the barest hint of pink. It is quite dry and appealing with a wide array of cuisines. Krug Rosé is a unique blend that spans four to six different vintages, three grape varieties, and encompasses all the complexities of the Krug style. It is aged for a minimum of six years before release. Krug Rosé is produced only occasionally and in strictly limited quantities.

Wine Spectator
A mouthwatering rosé that wraps a racy spine of acidity in the plushly creamy, cashmere-like mousse, offering a fine frame for the rich and finely meshed range of flavors, with baked raspberry, passion fruit and Mandarin orange peel fruit accented by chopped hazelnut, fleur de sel, candied ginger and lime blossom notes that echo for days on the vivid finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged autumn 2019. Drink now through 2030.

Eric Lebel achieves the beautiful color of this wine with the addition of pinot noir fermented on its skins. The rest of the blend includes reserve wines and selections of chardonnay, pinot noir and meunier that come together in Krug’s most ephemeral Champagne, an effervescent mist of flavor with the depths of a grand cru Vosne-Romanée. Resonant bass notes hold earthy complexity while vibrant freshness rises with the bubbles. An elegant rosé to pour with thin slices of roast duck breast.

Wine Enthusiast
This is an onion-skin-colored wine, ripe and showing some maturity as well as rich red and citrus fruits. It is beautifully balanced, the pure, crisp fruit elegantly integrated into the lightly mineral texture.
