La Valentina Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is an excellent example of the Abruzzo region’s most characteristic wine—a hearty red wine made from 100% Montepulciano grapes. This is the red entry in La Valentina’s Classica line, which showcases the traditional wines of Abruzzo at their best.
The 2023 vintage is a vibrant, organic Italian red from Abruzzo, showcasing juicy dark fruits (cherry, plum, berry) with herbal, spicy notes (mint, pepper, violet) and earthy hints, offering a medium-bodied, smooth, balanced palate with firm tannins and good freshness, excellent for pairing with tomato-based Italian dishes. It’s fermented in steel, aged partly in oak/barriques, and is noted for its classic, uncomplicated Abruzzo character.
