Description
98 points Jeb Dunnuck: “The 2023 Pinot Noir Jessie James Vineyard is exceptional and offers both finesse and power, reminiscent of Vosne-Romanée in style. Layered and complete with leather, ripe framboise, pressed herbs, mossy earth, and a mineral frame, it’s full-bodied, with refined tannins and stunning length. This is possibly the best wine I have tasted from Evan Martin Woods to date. Drink 2027-2050.”
Us: In keeping with its Eola-Amity Hills origin, Jessie James presents as the darkest and most structured of the three single vineyards; in Burgundy comparisons and echoing the above review, the Vosne to Bednarik and Hyland’s Chambolle. Despite its relatively darker tones of blues and purples, it’s still an entirely ethereal Pinot with enormous gravitas and length. An exquisite counterpoint to Hyland, highly recommended.
