Description
Still white wine from Sardinia, produced by Cantina Mesa, IGT Valli di Porto Pino, 2021 vintage. Native grapes, 14% vol. A wine born in the heart of Sulcis, Sardinia, where salty winds and sandy soils give the wines a unique character. The grapes come from a selection of the best parcels of the company’s vineyards. After 12 hours of skin maceration, the must ferments and ages in tonneaux for 6 months. A fraction is fermented with the skins. The blend is further aged for at least 15 months, first in tanks and then in bottle. Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. Vigorous yet elegant, it presents an exotic approach on the nose, with intense fruity notes of mango, papaya, and pink grapefruit, alternating with herbal notes such as lemon balm and helichrysum, mineral hints of flint, and a hint of sweet spices. On the palate it unfolds with engaging dynamism and authority, the freshness keeps the drink vibrant, while the intertwining of fruity aromas with notes of aromatic herbs and spices color the aftertaste with Mediterranean light, innervated in the long finish by an infiltrating sapidity.
