When the Hill-Smith Family first tilled the arid soils of Oxford Landing back in 1958, they were
driven by a bold vision to put the life of the Riverland at the heart of their new vineyard. Now,
over half a century later, that life has found itself etched into the stories and painted onto the
bottles of Riverlife wines. Each label features a unique design by local artist Ant Candish to
bring the elements of the local flora and fauna of the beautiful Riverland region to life through
an interactive augmented reality experience.
Embracing sustainability at every step of the way, Riverlife by Oxford Landing brings a love of
the Riverland and its abundant wildlife to the surface. Recycling wastewater, utilizing lightweight
bottles and promoting zero use of animal products are initiatives undertaken by the Hill-Smith
Family to help the river life not only survive, but continue to thrive, Lacewings, Eucalyptus
Trees, and Southern Bent-wing Bats included. Riverlife by Oxford Landing embodies days spent
basking in the sun, leaving wakes on the water, and easing into a night around the fire. The
perfect balance between peace and exhilaration.
The Stargazing Juicy Red is Riverlife by Oxford Landing’s vibrant and glimmering attempt to give
the night sky of the Riverland a flavor worthy in and of itself. It’s the perfect wine for nights
around the fire with a guitar in hand and singing under the stars with those you love most. It’s
for working a little less, living a little more, and sharing your wildest dreams under the guise of
the moonlight.
Grapes for the Stargazing Juicy Red are selected because they displayed vibrant cherry and
raspberry flavors. The grapes are harvested at night due to the cooler temperatures which
preserve these bright flavors.
After harvest, the grapes are gently transferred to fermentation vessels and fermented using a
native yeast that enhances the red fruit characters of the grapes. After fermentation on skins,
the grapes are pressed so that only soft and juicy tannins are released, the wines are then
blended and prepared for early bottling.
T A S T I N G N O T E S
Delicious red fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry and even a hint of ripe strawberry. The light
bodied palate is awash with juicy, raspberry, fruit flavors. Very soft and juicy on the palate with
lingering red berries. Ideally drink while young and fresh, chilled slightly in the fridge for
maximum enjoyment.
