Description
The Jayson wines are a great introduction to the Pahlmeyer style for a fraction of the price. Made using fruit from the same high quality sources as the higher-end Chardonnay, from vineyards on the Sonoma Coast and Napa Valley, the Jayson is barrel fermented using native yeasts and undergoes full malo. It is then aged in almost all new French oak barrels for 11 months on its lees, with some battonage. The resulting wine is citrusy, with hints of kiwi and melon adding a tropical edge on the nose and palate. Plush in the mouth, there’s a hint of flint that lingers with some oak spice on the finish.
