Description
The Patton Valley Vineyard is a wonderful slice of grape growing heaven, right on top of a little outcropping in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range at an elevation of 300-500 ft. The vineyard has ample sun, cool breezes, and slopes to every aspect with a single soil type called Laurelwood. It’s your basic paradise.
There’s really nothing like this wine. Every year the subtle nuance is like a siren call. Strawberry patch, kefir lime zest, orange blossom, and tangerine all dance and sing in a crisp chorus of freshness, and wild vibrancy. There’s never enough wine in a single bottle to pick out all of the detail, unfortunately, and so we persist.
“Light, vivid pink. Lively red berry and orange zest aromas are complemented by a subtle floral topnote. Silky and focused on the palate, offering taut red currant and strawberry flavors that deepen on the back half. Finishes very long and nervy, with repeating red fruit character and a late jolt of spiciness. – Josh Raynolds”
