With a soft, velvety texture and mouth-filling tannins this wine exudes a pleasurable palate of blackberry, cassis, chocolate cake, vanilla bean, and sweet oak flavors.Winery Background Roth Estate is a family-owned winery dedicated to crafting full-flavored wines grown in exemplary Sonoma County vineyards. Beginning in 2001, Roth committed to producing classic Bordeaux varietals in Alexander Valley. A decade later the winery expanded its winemaking to include cool-climate varietals from the Sonoma Coast.2013 Vintage We had moderate temperatures and consistently dry, warm days throughout the winter and spring. This resulted in ideal grape growing conditions in 2013, adding to prime flavor development. The grapes were harvested September 12th to October 14th, 2013 at optimum ripeness, and then fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks with regular pump-overs. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was aged in American oak 30% new for 17 months.
