”Round Pond Estate, owned and operated by the MacDonnell family, is a Rutherford farm, winery and olive mill specializing in the creation of pure, expressive wines, gourmet foods and unforget-table farm-to-table guest experiencesall from the heart of the Napa Valley.winemaking notes This wine is focused on purity of fruit; it is a flip book of the varietal as it ripens on the Estate. We capture different snapshots of the grapes character by making three picking passes during harvest. This provides the wine with multiple layers of fruit starting with zesty citrus, moving to stone fruits, progressing to melons, and finishing with a hint of exotic tropical fruits. Each of these aromatic profiles represents the different ripeness levels at which the clusters were picked.tasting notes Powerfully perfumed, the bright nose shows intense aromatics of lychee, melon and ripe white peach. The palate is equally as bright with booming fruit entry of crisp apple, grapefruit and Asian pear, intensi ed by notes of stone fruit and lime curd through the mid-palate. This wine is beautifully balanced with crisp acidity giving way to more depth and richness as you sip. Thenish exhibits rich tropical fruitavors along with a hint of minerality to give this wine great length and texture.vintage & viticulture Hand harvested in late August and whole-cluster pressed, the delicate grape juice was expertly protected from any damaging effects of oxygen, ensuring the purity of our Sauvignon Blanc. Daily checks on sugar, flavors and acids helped us to ensure we acheived the balanced crisp, clean flavors that we strive for with our Estate Sauvignon Blanc. After a cool, steady fermentation, the wines were racked off the lees for aging. Then settled in 100% stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation to retain the freshness and purity of our Estate fruit.
