VINEYARDS Chianti DOCG grapes are sourced from vineyards in the best-known winegrowing areas of the Chianti appellationVINIFICATION AND AGING Harvest The grapes were harvested during the last two weeks of September. Fermentation The alcoholic fermentation, aided by racking and punching down, continued for about two weeks at an average temperature of 79F 26C in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats. The wine was then further aged for four months before bottling. Alcohol content 12.5% vol.TASTING NOTES Color Ruby red Aroma Ruffino Chianti DOCG is an approachable, easy-drinking wine that has predominantly fruity and floral aromatics, with hints of spice and hazelnut. Tasting profile On the palate, Chianti DOCG is soft with a medium body and nice balance, displaying pleasantly fruity characteristics. Pairing As a young Sangiovese, Ruffino Chianti pairs beautifully with a variety of traditional Italian dishes such as ravioli, margherita pizza, or beef carpaccio.
