Description
Ciliegielo, which translates to “small cherry” in Italian, is typically used as a blending grape throughout Tuscany. On its own, it stands up beautifully to its formidable cousin Sangiovese – of which there are conflicting reports as to whether Ciliegiolo is a parent or offspring of that varietal. Either way, San Ferdinando have crafted a deliciously drinkable red with flavours of…you guessed it!…cherries, as well as raspberries, hints of rosemary and oregano, subtle spiciness and a lavender florality. Medium-bodied, soft tannins and juicy with big, refreshing acidity.
