The 2017 Scipio is entirely composed of Cabernet Franc and was raised in French oak for 20 months, followed by another 20 months in bottle before release. It is opulent with blackberry compote, eucalyptus, cedar, and sweet tobacco. Plush and polished, it has full body, velvety tannins, a ripe core of concentrated blue and black fruit, and a long finish. Its oak is wonderfully integrated and balanced, and the wine is impressive without being overblown.

A fresh, lively red with cherry, cedar and lightly toasted oak. Medium body, medium-chewy tannins and a lively finish. Needs time to come together, but fresh and vivid for the hot vintage.
