Description
A purple color with violet tints. On the nose, the beautiful ripeness offers everything an array of black fruits (cherries, blackberries) and toasted spices.
On the palate, fine and concentrated tannins are balanced by a nice salinity. Delicious peppery notes complete the long finish.
“In contrast, I found the 2020 Gigondas to be slightly mid-weight and narrow, but with some classic Grenache charm. Red and blue fruits, spice, and garrigue notes, ripe tannins, good overall balance, and integrated acidity all make for a charming, easygoing Gigondas to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years. This cuvée comes from higher elevation parcels and very old vines. The blend is 95% Grenache and 5% Mourvèdre, co-fermented and aged in wooden vats.”
