Winery Notes: “Only the third varietal bottling I’ve made from Viognier, this vintage shows everything that we like about it. A blend of two vineyard sites, one on decomposed granite giving wild flower aromas and minerality, and the other on volcanic loam providing fruit and mid-palate richness. Both vineyards are at over 2,700 feet in elevation.”
Winemaking Notes: The two harvests were both whole cluster pressed directly into Flextanks and left to ferment. A spontaneous malolactic fermentation occurred. The wines were blended together and left on their lees until bottling (unfined/unfiltered). The bottles were left to rest for 9 months before release.
Tasting Notes: The wine shows a light golden color, with a very light haze. It is obviously unfined and unfiltered. Aromas showcase citrus skin, white flower, and peach. It is medium- to full-bodied, fairly luxurious on the palate, with notes of greengage plum. The finish is mineral, long, and textural.
