Barbera d’Alba Superiore Peiragal, a still green red from Piedmont, 14.5% ABV, produced by Marchesi di Barolo. 0.75 L bottle, 2023 vintage. A Barbera that expresses the elegance and tradition of the historic Marchesi di Barolo winery, which has been producing high-quality wines since 1800. The hand-picked grapes are carefully vinified to enhance the varietal’s characteristics. Fermentation takes place with maceration at a controlled temperature for 10-12 days. Aged 60% in French oak barriques and the remaining 40% in 30-hl Slavonian oak barrels for one year. The nose is complex, with fragrant notes of wild berries and morello cherry that blend with enveloping hints of vanilla bean. The color is an intense purple red with violet reflections. On the palate, it is full-bodied and elegant, with robust yet sweet and enveloping tannins.
