Description
The Matsu La Jefa is a white wine aged in wood from the D.O. Toro in Spain. Matsu comes from the Japanese and means “to wait”. And indeed, the philosophy of the makers of this white wine from 100-year-old vineyards is to leave nature as untouched as possible and to act with patience and restraint when making the wine.
The Matsu La Jefa smells of vanilla and ripe stone fruit, with nuances of aniseed and a subtle sweetness. On the palate, this creation made from the Castilian grape variety Malvasi’a and smaller proportions of other white grape varieties is velvety and full, with a lovely creaminess. There is also a fine play of acidity and sweetish nuances. This Spanish white wine is wonderfully balanced, with a beautiful texture and impressive complexity.
The Matsu La Jefa matured for 16 months in French oak barrels (600 liters). Look forward to a bright straw-colored Malvasi’a that captivates connoisseurs with its extraordinary complexity.
