Ms. Edwards’s perennially successful Sauvignon Blancs typically claim a place at the very head of the class, and, in what was for many a difficult year, the 2011 shines once again. It is a deep and well-balanced approach to the grape that is lively and long on juicy, melon-like fruit with hard-to-miss herbaceousness and complementary oak completing a very rich and fairly complex picture. While an easy-to-taste wine, it is also a serious one, and it is has all right pieces to be an age-worthy Sauvignon that is worth seeking out.

An aromatic white, with toasty smoke notes up front that give way to peach blossom and honeysuckle details, balancing the ripe peach and nectarine flavors. Features firm acidity, a smooth body and a very spicy finish. (MW)
