Still red from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Venezia Giulia IGT, 11% ABV, produced by Skerk. 100% Terrano. 0.75 L bottle, 2021 vintage. A wine that tells the story of a family and a region, with production methods that respect nature and tradition. The Skerk winery is located on the Karst plateau halfway between Trieste and Monfalcone, about 3 km from the sea. This hilly area, arid and difficult in some respects, is where each vine grown has been plucked from the lap of a powerful yet welcoming and generous nature, with a mild and temperate climate. The winery is developing within this environment, with hard work and dedication, dedicating itself to the cultivation of high-density vines, focusing on the quality of the grapes and carefully aging the wine, in the best vintages, in oak barrels. It releases aromas of lavender, violet, cherry, strawberry jam, tamarind, leather, undergrowth, and black pepper, with notes of cloves and mint. Ruby red in the glass, it is graceful, very fresh, and lively on the palate, with tantalizing savory notes, ethereal, well-dissolved tannins that caress the palate, and ample aromatic returns on the finish. Balanced.
