Still organic red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC Riserva, 14.5% ABV, produced by Torre dei Beati. 100% Montepulciano, 2021 vintage. A Montepulciano that embodies the soul of Abruzzo, with its history and passion for viticulture. The winery’s name comes from a detail of a large 15th-century fresco found in the local church of Santa Maria in Piano. Montepulciano’s characteristic red fruit, particularly full and ripe, is balanced with spicy black pepper and licorice notes, and is enhanced by typical balsamic, chocolate, and tobacco notes. Deep and dense ruby red, with purple highlights when young. Good structure and volume on the palate, with well-defined yet soft and evolved tannins, and the crisp acidity typical of the area of origin, making it pleasant and never heavy.
