Still red Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Lago, 14% ABV, produced by Val di Suga (Angelini). 100% Sangiovese Grosso. 0.75 L bottle, 2019 vintage. A Brunello made northeast of the municipality of Montalcino, in a historic winery. Traditional fermentation, as was once done in Montalcino, takes place. The wine ages exclusively in 30 hl oval barrels for 24 months. Six months in concrete vats and 18 months in bottle. Notes of fresh cherry, violet, and candied fruit dominate the nose. Light garnet color with very bright ruby-orange reflections. An elegant, subtle, soft wine with great volume yet an unmistakable lightness. The tannins are velvety.
