Description
Still white wine from Burgundy, 13% ABV, produced by Vincent Girardin. 100% Chardonnay, 2022 vintage. A Meursault Vieilles Vignes that embodies the elegance and complexity of great Burgundy whites. The soils are of two different types: old Callovian limestone on one side and marly Argovian rock on the other. The grapes are harvested by hand, sorted in the vineyard and then in the cellar, and finally pressed to achieve slow extraction. The grapes are placed in 500-liter French oak barrels (10% new barrels) where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation will take place using native yeasts and bacteria. It will age extensively on the fine lees for 15 months. The wine is not stirred. Bottling takes place according to the lunar calendar. A delicious blend of toasted almonds and hazelnuts with vegetal and floral notes (hawthorn, elderberry, fern, lime, verbena) and mineral notes (flint). Butter, honey, and citrus also captivate the nose. On the palate, a rich wine with a nutty, passionate, and joyful flavor. A beautiful balance between smoothness and freshness. Long and structured.
