Serve well chilled from 6 to 8C 42F to 46F.HarvestThe climate conditions during this last 2013 growing season are characterized by lower temperatures and very good acidity levels in our white wines. In general, winter 2012 was dry and cold. Rains where concentrated in october. Summer was colder and more humid with some unusual rains in december. These rains supplied our water reserves and allowed the grapevines to develop without the necessity of extra summer irrigation. March brought back normal conditions. We started harvesting the Sauvignon Blanc from Las Kuras on March 12th. The ripening was going slowly; in generally, a good year for white wines and above all for aromatic varietals like our Sauvignon Blanc, because lower temperatures help to maintain a good acidity and to preserve the aromas.VinificationSauvignon Blanc from Las Kuras was 100% hand harvested at night. We began night harvest with the 2009 vintage because it allowed us to enhance the fruit and the freshness of the wine in addition to saving some cooling energy at the cellar. At this point of the process, we do all we can to preserve the fruit and acidity. Slow and low fermentation temperature, made it in stainless steel tanks. We added 8% of Semillon from our old vines from Apalta vineyard; the result is more complexity in the nose and a rounder mid palate, to produce a wine with a crisp acidity and intense white fruit aromas.” – Casa Lapostolle
